Tutor: Participate in training and work on a one-to-one basis with learners desiring to increase  literacy skills. Tutors and learners usually meet 1-2 times per week at a time which is mutually convenient.  

Tutor for ESL Adults: We need experienced tutors and/or teachers to run a brand new program at DC Everest providing after-school group tutoring sessions to parents in need of English as a second language instruction to promote involvement in their children's education and understanding of school notices.

Trainer for Tutor: Participate in 16 hours of training and become part of a corps of trainers for Marathon County. Trainers will conduct tutor training workshops 1-2 times a year.

Front Desk: We currently in great need of volunteers to staff the front desks at each of our locations. Responsibilities would include administrative support, welcoming people as they enter our office and determining their needs. 

Finance Committee: Help develop annual budget. Explore collaborative partnerships and the Council’s longer term funding needs as a community based organization. Assist with grant writing, fund drives, coordinating “friend” memberships or donations.

Programs Committee: Develop assessment and intake tools, develop and maintain learning materials for tutor/student needs. Plan and schedule training workshops, adapt materials and choose trainers to meet specific needs.  

Marketing Committee: Setup and update website, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn. Plan, coordinate and promote events. Assist with Promotion with Ads and Recognition to promote council activities and literacy awareness, recruit tutors and learners, and publicize events and accomplishments

Board Member: 2 year commitment to work with policy and council development and enhancement.
